    The Romance of the Automobile Industry by James Rood Doolittle.  Published by Klebold Press in 1916. First edition, hardcover. No dustjacket, as issued.  460 pages of automobile research and development pubished when the industry was still in its infancy.  Subjects covered include the inventors, the law, good roads, speed & racing, and progress.  116 illustrations.  As you can see from the photos, the front cover does need some repair with archival tape.  The book otherwise is clean and tight with no markings and no musty or smoky odors.  A very good copy.  This rare early book will be carefully packed and insured.
