Vintage Auto Part - Unique Garage Collectable - Stump your Friends

Here is what I know.  It says on the front
BOOSTER
Its 5.75" x 4.75"
From the front you can see some type of fan blade in the display
From the back the fan blade is attached to an electric motor, this spins the fan blowing air. (
(I tested with 12v and it works)
There is a small barbed exhaust port the air comes out when powered up and spinning
I assume when turned on a hose would blow this air to something.
I think
it is some kind of auto accessory.  Maybe 60s or 70s?
Maybe part of some kind of air injection system for performance or mpg improvement?
Possibly pressurizes another container for a water vapor injection of some kind?
Or maybe
part of that amazing 100 mpg carburetor that someone invented decades ago and BIG oil suppressed???
Or....Your idea here.
So far i have asked lots of mechanically inclined people and have got lots of mechanically inclined guesses.  Lots of head scratching but no firm proof.  If you know or think you know, email me with your idea.  No you don't win anything but I may update listing giving you credit if I can validate.  Certainly someone knows.
Need some great garage art, man cave display or just buy this curiosity and stump your mechanical friends who think they know it all!
